Also commuting back and forth between DC and Syracuse trying to get the house in rentable shape. Just got back to DC. Platooning two cars to get the convertible down here where it is hot hot hot already.
I keep thinking some creative energy is just going to appear. I'm going to have to figure out how to give it some space to breathe. Set aside a morning. Maybe unplug the internet . . .

When you get a chance, unplug the internet and relax. The best thing for me was to have mine off for a couple of days. The cable from pole to house needed replaced, so I was without phone or internet off and on for a week, but a couple of days when it completely died. Luckily, they fixed it easily at no cost to us. I really do hate to be offline! I probably should seek out a 12-step program for that.
But it did give me a chance to do some undistracted reading. I put Resonance on my kindle by way of converting it through Flagfic.com. And it looks so nice on there with it's cover art. I almost have more fanfic on the kindle than regular books. Almost!
Anyway, good luck with the muse. Enjoy the weather. Sounds like a morning on the deck with fresh ground coffee and scones is just the thing. No wait, a morning locked up with the laptop, writing. An evening with margaritas on the deck, after writing.
Accounting is, indeed, evil. Given your profession I assume you're well acquainted with Scot Adams's portrayal of accounting departments in Dilbert as groups of trolls?
I selfishly tender my best wishes that you find some creative time! :-)
Love Dilbert!
I have so enjoyed every word of your Harry Potter story and know you will eventually find a good closure. Glad you have a real life that is real....I can relate to having a thousand interests and things going on all the time.
myself, I'm staying connected by checking on my numerous seedlings constantly and getting my garden boxes ready for transplanting.
Have a great Spring and hope things start settling down for you soon.
